Newman's Automotive is a family-owned and operated Sumter auto repair shop providing comprehensive auto repair and maintenance services to Sumter area drivers. At Newman's Automotive, we service and repair American, European, and Asian cars and light trucks, as well as medium-duty American trucks (including diesels). We also sell, mount, and balance tires for most cars and light trucks, and do some light body work. No matter what you drive, you can count on us for all your automotive needs! With every service, our mechanics will conduct a 47-point inspection to make sure we catch any issues before they become major (and expensive) problems.
A big part of the “good ol’” family hospitality we offer here at Newman's Automotive is making car care as convenient and comfortable as possible for you. We’ll provide pick-up service for customers within a 15 to 20-mile radius, and if you’re visiting from out of town and your vehicle breaks down, we’ll get you to a motel and pick you back up when your car is fixed. We’re also glad to take you a restaurant, library, or mall while you’re waiting for vehicle repairs. If you decide to stay at the shop, enjoy a hot cup of coffee while watching TV.
The NAPA Credit Card is fast and easy to apply for—and it can be a real lifesaver if you need emergency repairs. You pay no interest on charges over $199 if paid in full in 6 months, and no interest on chargers over $750 if paid in full in 12 months.

Our auto repair shop is conveniently located at 1109 Florence Hwy in Sumter, on the corner of Route 76 and the Sumter Bypass. That’s about a mile from downtown Sumter (and the downtown traffic), and 15 miles from I-95. We’re not far from the world-famous Iris Gardens, University of South Carolina at Sumter, Morris College, Continental Tire, and Caterpillar. In addition to Sumter, we serve the communities of Dalzell, Manning, Camden, Bishopville, Lynchburg, Horatio, Mayesville, Pinewood, Summerton, and Shaw Air Force Base.
As a homegrown business, we feel it’s important to give back to the people and businesses who support us. We are involved in the local city and county fire departments, and we support the city and county law enforcement divisions, EMS, our military, Red Cross, United Ministries, and all the local schools. A community is only as strong as the ties that bind its members. We aim to be a very strong knot in the fabric of our town.
